Tech-Share

Home Up Kids Teachers Tech Teachers Tech Help Lesson Ideas About the Alien

A few years ago, our tech committee was trying to come up with ways for teachers to be more involved with technology. We brainstormed, and the idea of Tech-Share was born. Tech-Share is a time during faculty meetings when teachers share tech-related ideas they've used in their classrooms. Every teacher in our school must participate one time during the school year. This includes coaches, special ed. teachers, the counselor, and the media specialist. Every certified teacher has to participate. There has been some grumbling about it, but overall, this has been a great way for teachers to show off and get ideas from each other. Some teachers prefer to pull up the work on the computer and show it on the large screen (we set up a projector and laptop before the faculty meeting). Others like to simply stand and tell what they did. The actual sharing should only take a minute or two. Tech-Share's purpose is two-fold. Teachers are required to participate, so they must come up with one idea during the school year, even if it is just a fantastic web site they found. The second purpose of Tech-Share is the actual sharing of ideas. Most of them are adaptable across grade and curriculum areas.

For some of the ideas that have been shared by our teachers, check out the link:
