For the Georgia Tech Fair, competitions are divided by grade level as follows:  3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12.

Since mine is just a school-wide tech fair, we have chosen to allow all grades to participate, and each grade level will be judged only within that grade level.

If you use multi-grade levels, you need to determine if teams can have partners from different grade levels. You also need to determine a limit for the amount of team members.

When dealing with teams, you need to decide how to handle a project if a team member withdraws for some reason. This could affect the refunding of fees, as well as the judging category (individual v. team).

You also must decide if teams and individuals will be judged separately. You may choose to do this only in some categories, and not in others.
