Pre-fair publicity should include getting word out to schools in your region (or classes in your school). You might use email, fliers, or word-of-mouth, especially announcements at meetings.

To publicize your event outside of the school, send fliers to parents, ask the PTA to assist, publish announcements in the newspapers, ask your local radio stations to run public service announcements, and contact your local cable company to run an announcement on any local access channels.

On all publicity, be sure to include a local contact name and phone number.

You also need to publicize your fair to your business community. Contact someone with the Rotary Club, the Lion's Club, or any other business organizations. Small local computer companies and ISPs may want to become involved, especially when it might mean more business for them.

Invite local news crews to cover the event.

During fair day, be sure you have time set aside just to view projects. Also, have your photographers circulate during this time to take pictures of projects, of students, and of other guests.

Be sure to get pictures of all of the winners. Send these pictures (after getting permission) and a story to any local newspapers.

The more post-fair publicity you have, the more people will be encouraged to support you next year!
