Here are directions to create a Photo Story. You can get the Photo Story software for free from http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/PhotoStory/default.mspx.

Ask for an adult's permission before you download or install Photo Story or any other program.

1. Double click the Photo Story icon to open the program.
2. Make sure you have clicked in the "Begin a new story" bubble. Click Next.
3. Click "Import Pictures". Browse and find the pictures you want to use.
4. Click on the picture and click OK.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you have imported all the pictures you want to use.
6. Move the pictures in the storyline at the bottom by clicking and dragging them into the order you want.
7. Click Next.
8. If you get a box that asks if you want to coninue without removing black borders, click Yes.
9. Click in the text box and type the words you want to show up. You can change font color and style by clicking the button with two As on it. You can change where your words are by clicking the other buttons beside the font button.
10. Click other pictures at the bottom and add text to the ones you want to add text to.
11. Click Next.
12. If you want to add narration, use your microphone and click the button with the red dot.
13. Repeat step 12 to add narration to other slides. Click on the picture at the bottom and you can add narration to it.
14. Click Next.
15. If you want to add music, click the button that says "Create Music". Click on the arrows in the pop-up box to change how the music sounds. Click the Play button with the triangle to listen to the music. Choose the music you want and click OK.
16. Click Next.
17. Click Preview. Watch your movie. Make any changes you want by clicking your back button at the bottom of Photo Story.
18. Click the Browse button and choose where you want to save your finished movie to. Give it a name that you can remember and that relates to your movie.
19. Click Next.
20. Wait until it goes through the steps and the box disappears.
21. Click on "View your story". Enjoy!
