You may or may not find that you need donations for your fair. If you are lucky, your system will provide funding for trophies, awards, fliers, and other expenses. If not, then you should find business partners who will be willing to donate either money or supplies such as paper, ink, blank CDs, etc. You may even find someone willing to provide rent-free space with all the electrical/Internet things you will need. Some sponsors are willing to loan laptops or other computers for tech fairs. Local supermarkets might donate food and drinks, especially for the judges. If you wish, you might give out pens, pencils, cups, or other tokens to participants or guests. It's always a nice touch to give your judges appreciation gifts.

In lieu of money or supplies, some businesses may wish to donate time. This is just as valuable, since you need greeters, runners, judges, and a slew of other support staff!

Your school PTA can be a good source for a contribution. Computer stores and ISPs may also be willing to donate.

Be sure to acknowledge all sponsors during the fair and during publicity. The donors are appreciated and help make tech fairs possible!
