The links below will take you to Georgia's new Learning Standards and technology ideas for each of those standards. Feel free to use any of these ideas. Most of them are not in depth and should be simple enough for even novice tech users to implement in their classrooms.

If you would like a template created, please email me and I will be glad to do that. Be aware, however, that it make take me a few days to get templates made and uploaded for you to use.

Also, keep in mind that Webquests and scavenger hunts are excellent activities to use. I have not included these in any of my ideas because links change so quickly. I would suggest using them (especially Webquests) whenever you can, since they promote higher order thinking skills. Simply do a Google search for your topic, like "American Revolution Webquest" and you can look through the hits and find the one that's most appropriate for your needs. Or better yet, write your own!

I basically write my own curriculum, based on student/teacher need and state requirements. Technology-based curriculum is still being developed, and the best curriculum is based on other areas first (such as language arts, math, science, etc.), and simply includes some type of technology as the BEST tool to get the work done.

Never "do" technology just for the sake of "doing" technology.

However, all students must have a basic knowledge of computer/tech use, and there are a few complete curriculums and/or scopes and sequences that have been developed in this area.

Below are links to the Georgia standards and the skills checklists that I use in my computer lab.

It takes a lot of coordination between the lab teacher and the regular classroom teacher to plan activities that correlate with what's going on in the regular classroom, but it can be done, and the students' learning is more complete.
